About Sports & More Included

Earl Hamel operates their family owned business, Sports and More Included, with the assistance of Jackie, his wife of 49 years. Earl opened his shop in Lake George three years ago. He has actively owned and run a sports store business for a total of
seventeen years.

The Hamels lived in Connecticut and vacationed in Lake George until 1990. Earl was a printer by trade and when the plant he worked for closed it's doors, he was offered a position in Upstate New York by another printing firm. They Hamel's had bought a vacation home in 1987, and with their children on their own, decided to make their move to Lake George. Earl was always saying “If God made a nicer place, He kept it for Himself.” This made the transition to the North Country easy.

In 1993 the firm he was working for closed it's doors. He had been spending weekends doing baseball card shows and flea markets, and now that he was unemployed he was approached by a colleague to share space in a store that was too large for her needs. What started as a hobby had now turned into a full time business. Earl is a man who, as a child, grew up with bat, ball, and glove in his hand, always ready to play the game, and listen to, or watch his baseball heroes play the game.
